What is the source of magic? How did warging and skinchanging develop and what are the further implications of soul-transfer from man to beast? Does it also work the other way round? What do the three heads of the dragon really stand for?
Researching material for the Elements and Magic series was great fun, very productive and illuminating – check it out, beginning with Earth Magic.
There’s some great stuff out there, analyzing and interpreting GRRM’s work . I’m awed by some fans’ in-depth understanding and treatment of their chosen subject matter and so far I’ve enjoyed almost everything I’ve read in blogs and forums. Sometimes I agree with the ideas postulated, sometimes I don’t, but whatever the case, there are always new things to be learned that increase one’s understanding in general.
